'Raw' look indigo and black denim will eventually fade after washing and wearing. Black
jeans will not remain 'jet black' forever as we have chosen to use dye-stuff which is not
damaging to the environment.
We can't prevent the fading process, but with special care, you can ensure that your denims
retain their shape and colour for long as possible.
HERE'S HOW TO SHOW YOUR DENIM SOME LOVE...
Buy the correct size to reduce stress on buttons and stitching
Always wash your denims inside out
Limit the amount of soap/detergent used
Dry out of direct sunlight
Always iron your denims inside out
For dark blue or black denim, you can add
a bit of salt to your
water to preserve
the colour. For black denim, you can also add
special washing powder to preserve the black.
All dark and black denim will eventually fade
after a few washes. The best way to keep the
colour is to decrease the amount of washes.
An alternative to washing, is to hang your
denim in the bathroom while you shower,
the steam will clean the garment to a degree
without removing any colour.
When wearing back or dark denims, steer clear of white sofa's or chairs and be careful of wearing light shoes / handbags as the indigo colour may rub off on these items.
